Syria (IP) – In a meeting with Syrian officials, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said Iran, as in the past, would stand by the Syrian government and people in economic reconstruction and cultural cooperation.

Iran PressMiddle East: Saeed Khatibzadeh, who had traveled to Syria within the framework of Iran-Syria cooperation in the fields of public, media, and cultural diplomacy, met the Syrian authorities and participated in meetings of think tanks, media, and elites. 

During the visit, Khatibzadeh met Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad to discuss the latest developments in bilateral relations and cultural and media cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria.

During the meeting, the Syrian foreign minister stressed the need to develop culture and media cooperation.

Khatibzadeh continued his meetings with the ministers of information and culture, the minister of Science, and Senior Advisor to the President of Syria, Batina Shaaban.

In these meetings, Khatibzadeh underlined the need to develop cultural and media cooperation between the two countries, expressed satisfaction with the resistance of the Syrian people in the face of terrorism, and highlighted that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as in the past, would stand by the Syrian government and people in economic reconstruction and cultural cooperation.

Syrian officials also said the Syrian people would never forget Iran's stance by the Syrian people.

In addition to lecturing at the Syrian diplomatic academy and meeting at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, Khatibzadeh attended a joint meeting with the Syrian media members and responded to their questions.

Meetings with Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Bashar al-Ja'afari and some other side meetings in the framework of public diplomacy cooperation between the two countries were among this trip's programs.
