US Democrats intend to introduce an article of impeachment against Donald Trump for his role in recent unrests particularly Wednesday's invasion of the US Congress.

Iran Press/America: A group of US Democrats, furious over the invasion of the Congress on Wednesday by a mob inspired and encouraged by Donald Trump, is pushing to rapidly impeach the US president a second time hoping to force Trump from office even a few days early rather than allow him to leave on his own terms.

According to US media, removing Trump by constitutional means is a tall order for the 12 days remaining in his presidency, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has not made a formal determination to move forward with a second impeachment, even as she consulted Friday with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff about curbing Trump’s ability to launch nuclear weapons.

As Reuters reported on Thursday, Democratic leaders including House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called for immediate impeachment proceedings if Vice President Mike Pence and Trump’s cabinet refused to take steps to remove Trump from power.

“The president’s dangerous and seditious acts necessitate his immediate removal from office,” they said in a statement on Thursday evening, accusing Trump of inciting an “insurrection.”

Donald Trump has vowed to boycott Joe Biden's Inauguration Day as the US Capitol crisis rumbles on amid talk of impeachment.

Posting on Twitter, Trump said: "To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on Jan 20."
