A rocket landed near Erbil airport in northern Iraq late on Wednesday, Kurdish security officials said in a statement, with no immediate reports of casualties.

A US-led military base in the Erbil International Airport vicinity was hit by a barrage of rockets in February that killed a military contractor.

The attack killed one civilian contractor and injured one US service member, as well as injuring five other contractors.

Four of the injured contractors were American, according to a US defense official. 

According to local media reports, at least one local civilian was killed in the attack, which also struck a nearby residential neighborhood. 

Saraya Awliya al-Dam took immediate responsibility, announcing to have fired 24 rockets in the attack.
