Tehran (IP)- Major General Hassan Firoozabadi, former Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, died of an illness at the age of 70 on Friday.

Iran Press/Iran news: During 8 years of holy defense (Iran-Iraq war) Maj Gen Hassan Firoozabadi was in positions such as Deputy Prime Minister at Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, the country's war relief and treatment headquarters, shelter and civil defense, chemical, microbial and nuclear defense, war industrial engineering, and the committee of the construction of surface-to-surface missiles, and after the end of the imposed war on September 26, 1989, he was appointed chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces by the decision of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
